ABOUT US

SALIR Quarterly is a savvy and sophisticated magazine for lesbians who appreciate quality editorial content on a variety of topics relevant to our lives.

OUR MISSION

The mission of SALIR Quarterly is to enrich and connect the lesbian community by providing resources for growth and activism. We are progressive women who want to contribute to our society without compromise to our identities as women and as lesbians. We are women with diverse lives and a common desire to cultivate a lesbian community, enlighten our own social consciousness, and participate benevolently in society.

OUR VISION

Our vision for SALIR Quarterly is simple. We view this magazine as means through which to reach our community while simultaneously chronicling our existence and providing information and access to resources for the improvement of our lives. We understand that the lesbian community is diverse, vibrant, and dynamic, and that there is no such thing as a stereotypical lesbian. With this in mind, we also acknowledge that despite our diversity, we share common issues. Together we face issues in our employment, families, retirement, housing, etc. Regardless of our age, profession, relationship status, and background, ultimately the laws of this state apply to us and we need to be informed.
SALIR Quarterly seeks to highlight our collective fabulousness! We want to meet you all: young, old, married, single, out, closeted, questioning, artistic, musical, bookish, athletic, political, military... you get the drift. Share your style, passions, talents, and voice with us because SALIR Quarterly is first and foremost a community magazine. We encourage you to join us in this public dialogue by contributing stories, articles, photos, and art. Our staff is eager to hear from you.
